Hello everyone! This week, we start with a cold front that will be approaching from the west on Sunday/Monday morning. Associated with the cold front will be some scattered showers and thunderstorms around the area. There is also tropical depression Julia hanging off the coast of South Carolina that could help bring some steadier heavy rain Sunday night into Monday morning. By Monday evening, all rain should be over as the cold front moves out over the Atlantic, and Julia remains  to our south over the ocean. There is another cold front over the MN/WI area moving east just behind the initial cold front but, a high pressure system will move into the area Tuesday night/Wednesday morning which should block it and any other fronts/low pressure systems from coming into the area until the weekend. This means the end of the week should be pretty comfortable and dry. Updates will be made if needed. Enjoy your week!

Saturday 61-64/76-79 Partly cloudy skies.

*News: Posts will be uploaded on Saturdays for awhile now which means that forecasts will be Sunday-Saturday instead of Monday-Sunday. Everything else is on track as usual.

This week, we start off with a nice break from the humidity with temps around the 80*F mark. After a front moves through early Sunday morning, the air will become much drier and cooler as a high pressure system sets up over PA Sunday afternoon-Tuesday afternoon. A cold front will be moving towards the area from the northwest on Wednesday, but the system shouldn’t have too much precipitation with it. We may get a couple showers and isolated thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon/evening, but then it will be out of the area by Thursday morning. Behind the cold front will be much cooler temps and we could drop into the upper 50’s by Friday morning. The end of the week should be sunny and comfortable, but updates will be made as needed. Enjoy your week!

Sunday 72-75/82-85 Rain showers possible in the morning, then clearing in the afternoon.

This week, the talk is post-tropical cyclone Hermine, and the return of the heat. Although the threat of severe weather from post-tropical cyclone Hermine has all but vanished, we may still get scattered showers and a few gusty winds Tuesday-Wednesday morning. By Wednesday afternoon, Hermine will really disorganize and begin to move back out to sea. The heat returns Wednesday as well while Hermine weakens. A weak cold front will move through the area Thursday night, which means there will be a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms Thursday evening. Friday and Saturday remain hot before a stronger cold front moves into the area Saturday night. At the moment, the chance of thunderstorms on Saturday looks unlikely, but there’s still a chance for isolated storms late in the afternoon. Light to moderate showers should follow through the night before exiting the area Sunday morning. Updates will be made as needed. Enjoy your week!

This week, looks pretty busy as there’s a chance of some tropical systems forming in the Atlantic Ocean and along the Gulf Coast. That’s towards the end of the week though. To start the week, we’ll continue with warm temps in the upper 80’s, with no rain likely until Wednesday night/Thursday morning. A cold front will approach the area very early Thursday morning as tropical depression eight moves northeast over the Atlantic Ocean just to our east. This cold front will bring a big drop in temperatures. A high pressure system will move into the area on Friday, but tropical depression nine will move on a northeastward track throughout the weekend which may keep the area a bit cloudy, though we should remain dry for the whole weekend. Updates will be made as needed. Enjoy your week!

Saturday 71-74/84-87 Mostly sunny skies.
Sunday 71-74/82-85 Mostly sunny skies.

This week looks to be another quiet week, like the past week. A high pressure system will move over the area keeping us dry and comfortable with temps in the mid 80’s through Wednesday. A cold front will be approaching Thursday afternoon, so some humidity will return, but the rain should hold off until Friday. The timing of the cold front may keep us dry throughout the week, but if it slows down a bit, then thunderstorms will likely develop in the afternoon. By Friday night, the front should be past moving eastward over the ocean. The dry and comfortable weather should return Saturday and Sunday. Updates will be made as needed. Enjoy your week!

Tuesday 72-75/84-87 Mostly sunny skies.
Wednesday 70-73/83-86 Mix of clouds and sun, scattered thunderstorms possible in the afternoon.
Thursday 74-77/87-90 Mostly cloudy. Scattered showers/thunderstorms likely in the afternoon.
Friday 75-78/87-90 Mostly cloudy. Scattered showers/thunderstorms likely.
Saturday 76-79/87-90 Mostly cloudy. Scattered showers/thunderstorms likely in the afternoon.
Sunday 74-77/86-89 More clouds than sun. Scattered thunderstorms possible in the afternoon.

This week, we’ll start off dry since a high pressure system is located just off the Atlantic Coast. The high will slowly shift east as a cold front approaches on Wednesday bringing with it, scattered showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon/night. The front will be out of the area by Thursday morning, but just behind it will be another cold front. This means the chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms continues. The front will become stationary throughout most of the end of the week, so we could have a chance of showers/thunderstorms throughout most of the weekend. Along with the stationary front, temps and humidity will increase, so prepare for a very uncomfortable stretch of days. Enjoy your week.

Day Morning Temp/Afternoon Temp(*F) Description
Monday 70-73/79-82 Cloudy skies. Showers and thunderstorms likely, especially in the afternoon.
Tuesday 69-72/78-81 Cloudy skies with showers likely in the morning/afternoon.
Wednesday 67-70/80-83 More sun than clouds.
*Thursday 69-72/81-84 Mostly sunny skies.
*Friday 71-74/83-86 Warmer. Partly cloudy skies. An isolated thunderstorm is possible in the evening/night.
*Saturday 73-76/87-90 Warm. Mix of clouds and sun. Showers/thunderstorms possible in the afternoon.
*Sunday 73-76/85-88 Warm. Mostly sunny skies.

For this week, we’ll start off with a low pressure system over the Mid-Atlantic states that is basically stationary. This means a chance for scattered showers/thunderstorms is likely on Monday. Storms shouldn’t be real severe since temps will be in the upper 70’s/low 80’s due to cloud cover. The clouds and rain continue through Tuesday as the low pressure system slightly shifts south before leaving the area by Wednesday morning. A weak high pressure system will set up over New England keeping our area dry Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, a cold front will begin to move into the area coming from the west-northwest. The low may not be close enough to bring a chance for thunderstorms on Friday, but if it gets closer, thunderstorms will be likely on Friday. If not, expect showers/thunderstorms Friday night through Saturday morning. The cold front will be out of the area by Saturday afternoon leaving the rest of the weekend dry. Enjoy your week!

*The cold front looks like it won’t come through until Saturday night, which means the chance for rain has been pushed back to Saturday instead of Friday night. There is a very slight chance for an isolated storm to make it into the area Friday evening, but its very unlikely. Whether we get scattered showers/thunderstorms depends on how cloudy it is Saturday morning. If it’s not real cloudy across the region, the chance of rain and thunderstorms is more likely, but if it’s cloudy, the chance of rain decreases. Hope you all enjoy the weekend regardless!

For the last week of July, the main story is HOT. The whole week will be 89+(F) until about Friday. On Monday, we’ll start with a cold front coming from the Midwest region. This will bring a chance for some clouds and scattered thunderstorms. Some storms will be severe, especially inland in NJ/PA, upstate NY, etc. The front won’t bring relief in temps for Tuesday though. The heat remains in place Tuesday and Wednesday with mostly sunny skies. On Thursday, a weak cold front will move into the area and become stationary over the Mid-Atlantic states Friday. This will bring the chance for scattered showers/thunderstorms that could last throughout the weekend. This will also bring the temps down some, but the humidity will remain in place. Updates will be made to the forecast as needed. Stay cool and enjoy your week!

The middle of the week will be a bit cooler and more comfortable but the heat returns by Friday. This week, we’ll start off under a high pressure system centered over the Tristate area. It will slowly move east over the ocean on Tuesday into Wednesday. Because of this, moisture and heat will return to the area. Although it should be sunny, there’s a very slight chance for isolated showers/thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday. By Thursday, a cold front will move into the area increasing the chance for thunderstorms. The front should move through the area Thursday night, but there’s a chance for an unstable environment on Friday as well, so there’s a slight chance for a thunderstorm since another cold front will be approaching the area from the west. On Saturday, the chance of thunderstorms continues, but the timing for rain depends on where the cold front will be Friday night going into Saturday. Sunday should be clear of rain but updates will be made as needed later this week. Enjoy your week!
