Hello everybody! This week looks like it could be a bit wet, and definitely humid with warmer temps finally moving into the area. A high pressure system is going to move into the central Atlantic Ocean area, and that’s going to bring winds steady from the south this week, also causing any low pressure systems/fronts to move a lot slower. So what this means is a few days of scattered rain showers/thunderstorms. The chance of rain is low on Tuesday, but increases for Wednesday and Thursday as the low pressure system moves closer to the coast. The first system will move out of the area Friday, but the weather will be active for the next two weeks, so another system will move in right behind it meaning the chance of rain returns for Saturday and Sunday, but the forecast will be more fine tuned as the weekend gets closer. Until then, enjoy your week, and the warm weather!

NYC April 20-26 Forecast

Day Morning Low/Afternoon High Temp(*F) Description
Monday 46-49/57-60 Moderate rain likely in the morning ending in the afternoon(6am-2pm). Then showers possible again during the night. Windy.
Tuesday 54-57/66-69 An isolated shower in the morning. Clouds should clear by the afternoon.
Wednesday 51-54/62-65 Showers possible in the afternoon and likely during the night(4pm-11pm).
Thursday 42-45/53-56 Mostly cloudy in the morning, then clearing in the afternoon.
Friday 40-43/54-57 Mix of clouds and sun.
Saturday 40-43/57-60 Mostly sunny skies.
Sunday 41-44/55-58 Mix of clouds than sun.

This week definitely won’t be as nice as last week, and it will be a bit rainy as well. The week will start off with rain on Monday as a warm front moves through the area associated with a low that will stick around all week. Tuesday won’t be very rainy, but the rain likely returns Wednesday afternoon with the cold front. As the winds shift from Southwest to Northwest, they’ll bring down colder air from Canada. The low will be pretty much stationary, so it’ll repeat that process meaning the end of the week will be a bit cool, especially during the night time hours. Of course, the forecast will continue to be updated throughout the week, so remember to check daily to see if the weekend will be nice, or rainy as well!

This week is going to be an active and wet one as a series of low pressure systems move across the area. The best day should be Monday with mostly cloudy skies and temps around 60-65 degrees. By Tuesday morning, a stationary front will bring a slight chance for some showers. Tuesday night, a cold front passes through, and right behind it, another wave of low pressure will move into the area and the chance for showers continues through Wednesday night. Thursday will most likely remain cloudy but dry before another cold front moves through the area Friday with a chance of rain likely. The good news (for those who don’t like rain) is the weekend looks like it should be nice and dry.
