Tuesday 68-71/78-81 More clouds than sun with scattered showers and thunderstorms likely.

*Sunday 67-70/83-86 Mostly sunny skies.

This week, we’ll start Monday off with a slow moving cold front coming from the west-northwest. The front won’t bring a lot of warmth so the chance of thunderstorms developing around the city is unlikely. Scattered light to moderate showers with a possible rumble of thunder is likely on Monday afternoon/evening. The front will stick around on Tuesday, so the chance of showers and thunderstorms redeveloping is likely through the evening. The system will continue moving east out of the area by Wednesday morning leaving nice weather for the afternoon lasting through Thursday night. A low pressure system will likely move toward the area from the Midwest bringing a chance of some rain for the start of the weekend. Updates will be made as needed. Enjoy your week!

Day Morning Temp/Afternoon Temp(*F) Description
Monday 63-66/75-78 Cooler. Showers and thunderstorms possible in the afternoon.
Tuesday 65-68/82-85 Mix of clouds and sun with some clearing in the afternoon.
Wednesday 62-65/74-77 Partly cloudy skies.
Thursday 56-59/72-75 Mix of clouds and sun.

Saturday 62-65/81-84 Mix of clouds and sun.
Sunday 62-65/79-82 Partly cloudy becoming cloudy in the afternoon.

This week, we’ll be effected by the second tropical storm of the year, Bonnie, though this isn’t a strong system. We’ll get some rain showers possible on Monday going into early Tuesday morning, but the rain should be pushed out over the ocean due to a cold front coming from the west. By Tuesday, some clouds will remain in the area, but we should be dry until Friday. This tropical system will keep most of the rain to our south until another cold front moves into the area from the midwest on Friday. That system will bring a chance for some isolated thunderstorms and light to moderate rain showers Friday night, but we may not see any rain in the city. The rest of the weekend looks dry until Sunday night, but updates will be made as necessary. Enjoy your week!

Hello everyone! Sorry for the absence this past week, major tests, and lots of studying occupied my time, but we’re back in business this week, and just in time for summer too!

The week will definitely start off feeling like summer with temps in the low to mid 90’s Monday and Tuesday, but then, will moderate after a cold front moves through Tuesday night. For Wednesday and Thursday, temps will be in the low to mid 80’s, and nice and sunny. The chance of rain returns on Friday though, as a low pressure system will move into the area from the Ohio River Valley, bring a chance for on and off rain showers. The system may become stationary, and stick around for the weekend, but at the moment, it looks like it will stay to our south, keeping our skies cloudy and temps cool with winds off the ocean. Enjoy the week, and stay cool these next couple days!

Monday 60-63/77-80 Mix of clouds and sun and breezy. Scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Scattered showers continue through the night.
Tuesday 65-68/81-84 Scattered showers/thunderstorms around through the morning, and again during the afternoon. Warm.
Wednesday 66-69/81-84 Mostly sunny skies.

Saturday 67-70/84-87 Mix of clouds and sun. Scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Sunday 66-69/80-83 Mix of clouds and sun.

This week, the story is the major warm up! After a week of cold rainy days, the next week will feel like a whole new season. A low pressure system will move into the area Monday bringing up warm and moist air from the Gulf. As the temps rise into the upper 70’s and low 80’s, thunderstorms will likely develop ahead of the cold front and move into the area Monday evening. The front will become stationary, and will keep the chance of rain around through Tuesday before moving out of the area. The rest of the week looks nice and calm, except for an isolated thunderstorm Thursday do to warm temps ahead of a quick moving cold front. The chance of rain returns next weekend though, but temps should still be in the lower to upper 80’s. Enjoy the week everyone!

Day Morning Low/Afternoon High Temp(*F) Description
Monday 59-62/66-69 Cooler and overcast with scattered showers throughout the day. An isolated thunderstorm is possible. Breezy.
Tuesday 56-59/69-72 Overcast with showers in the morning, then some clearing in the afternoon
Wednesday 56-59/70-73 Mostly sunny skies. Nice and comfortable.
Thursday 59-62/71-73 Mix of clouds and sun. A very slight chance of an isolated shower/thunderstorm in the afternoon.
Friday 62-65/78-81 Scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Saturday 65-68/77-80 Mostly cloudy with scattered showers/thunderstorms.
Sunday 62-65/74-77 Mostly sunny skies.

This week, cooler temps move back into the area to start the week, but by the end of the week, we’ll be back up towards the 80 degree mark. The reason temps will be so much cooler is because a cold front is going to hang around the area Monday and Tuesday, bringing us clouds and rain showers ending by Tuesday afternoon. By then, a high pressure system will move into the area blocking a low pressure system in the Southeast from moving up the coast towards us. The low pressure system may move north by Thursday/Friday, and by the weekend, the chance of rain returns as the high pressure system is pushed out of the area because of another cold front coming from the Northern Plains. The week in general though doesn’t look too bad, so hopefully, you all enjoy!

NYC June 23-29 Forecast

The week will start off nice for Monday and Tuesday as a high pressure system sits over the area. The skies will be clear and the humidity will stay pretty low. Tuesday night going into Wednesday, a cold front, associated with a low pressure system located in Canada  will move into the area bringing a small chance of a shower, but the threat for rain isn’t very high until Wednesday afternoon. On Wednesday, the cold front will bring a chance of thunderstorms effecting most of the east coast. The chance of thunderstorms looks most likely Wednesday afternoon. Thursday also looks like there will be some sort of rain, but the front may pass by too early for any convection to develop in the afternoon. There may be some showers Thursday morning but the likeliness of rain after 10:00 am is not very high. Heading into the weekend, the chance of rain looks like it still exists, but with it being far away, and uncertainty in the models, I will not make any official forecasts until later this week.

Monday High/Low(f):78-80/59-61 Sunny clear skies, and pleasant.

Tuesday High/Low:80-83/61-64 Sunny, partly cloudy in the evening, humidity rises during the day becoming a bit more uncomfortable, possible showers late at night.

Wednesday High/Low:84-87/64-67 Warm and humid, a chance of showers/storms in the morning, and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon/night.

Thursday High/Low:81-84/64-67 Warm and humid, storms and showers possible in the morning, a chance of isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Updated June 26:

A high pressure system will move in for the next couple of days ahead of a strong low pressure system developing over the northern plains that will effect the east coast early next week. Friday and Saturday will be nice, and Sunday shouldn’t be bad either, but there’s a chance for an isolated thunderstorm late Sunday afternoon, and/or night.

Friday High/Low:79-81/64-66 Mostly sunny, and pleasant, a breeze off the ocean.

Saturday High/Low:76-79/61-63 Sunny skies and pleasant.

Sunday High/Low:78-81/61-64 A bit more humid and warmer, mostly sunny with an isolated storm in the evening/night.
